(FOX40.COM) — This Tuesday evening, several leaders of the city government will take their oath of officesome for the first time and some after being re-elected to their respective offices.
Sacramento will have a new mayor, Kevin McCarty, and two new city council members, Roger Dickinson in District 2 and Phil Pluckebaum in District 4.

Two city council members, Eric Guerra in District 6 and Mai Vang in District 8, won re-election to their respective seats after no opponents challenged them.
Dickinson takes over from interim council member Shoun Thao, who was appointed after Sean Loloee resigned amid a federal indictment related to labor practices at his grocery stores.

Pluckebaum won his race against current council member Katie Valenzuela, and McCarty won against epidemiologist Flojaune Cofer.
The new council body will do this shortly after being sworn in consider renewing the city manager’s contract until the end of 2025.
City Manager Howard Chan’s current contract runs until the end of this month, but the previous city council and mayor opted to leave the handling of the extension to the new city council body.
